Evangelism Evangelism is a priority strategy because bringing people from darkness into God’s kingdom is the primary purpose of God’s work in this world. He has made us ambassadors of reconciliation so that He might reconcile the world unto himself. He is not willing that one (person) should be lost. The Great Commission to make disciples as we go implies that we engage in the first task of disciple-making, sharing the gospel. Evangelism involves sowing, cultivating and harvesting. Jesus was a soul winner. In addition to the Biblical mandate and model, we have a pressing need in El Paso to win the lost. Easily half a million people in the El Paso area alone are not on their way to Heaven. Over 250,000 claim no church affiliation. The ratio of population to EPBA church members has decreased as the city has grown. We have a need to share the gospel more and share it more effectively. The Evangelism Priority Team seeks to build capacity among the churches to sow, cultivate and harvest the good news of the kingdom of Heaven in El Paso.
